A Touch of Hunan, located in Milwaukee, WI, is a hidden gem in the Chinese culinary scene, known for its genuine flavors and hearty portions. Customer reviews highlight the exceptional taste, with remarks on their shrimp fried rice being a standout delight. Linda Moss praises the inviting atmosphere, clean environment, and friendly service, making it a place where diners can comfortably enjoy meals and conversations. However, there is a contrast in the feedback regarding the restaurant's upkeep. While some have experienced the rich flavors of traditional dishes, others expressed concerns about the need for renovations and cleanliness. Barbrae noted the food exceeded her expectations, despite the restaurant feeling outdated. This sentiment is echoed by Jermaine Lipsey, who has enjoyed consistently delicious carry-out, particularly the House Fried Rice—a favorite that keeps customers coming back. Despite mixed sentiments about the ambiance, the genuine flavors at A Touch of Hunan shine through, making it worthwhile for those seeking authentic Hunan dishes. With welcoming service and affordability, it remains a recommended spot for fans of Chinese cuisine, encouraging patrons to embrace its culinary history while hoping for improvements in the dining experience.

Excellent food, serving size and price! After years of just passing this place by, we decided to see why it was still open. Come to find out, it is outdated and in desperate need of repair but the food was way above our expectations! The lady was pleasant and even though it's a lost piece of history, the food is amazingly good! Give this little lost gem a try! We did and we will return!

I ordered imperial eggrolls upon entering the facility. There was a very dense appearance and smell of old refrigeration. The hostess was very nice. The price was very good two dollars per egg roll and the eggrolls were basic. I go there again only if it was only option close to my home and I don’t feel like driving, I believe everyone agrees they need to clean up that place clear that smell and turn on some lights because lots of places turn off lights to hide infestation of mice and roaches, and we can only imagine what the kitchen looks like Maybe that’s why the prices are so cheap but there’s hope simply shut it down, clean it up, clean the windows and doors when you first come in and people may start to come back because it is a very ideal location in terms of option for Chinese food culturally cooked versus Hong Kong express located nearby on the northwest side near 76 in good Hope in Mill Road

This is a hidden gem in Milwaukee. Yes, the place is outdated. Might have been a disco bar in the 70s. Nevertheless, they serve the best Lo Mein in town. My favorite dish is the "House Fried Rice" - it has all the meats: shrimp, pork, chicken, beef. Very filling & delicious. Enjoy!
